New England School of Auctioneering To Offer Licensing Classes

ALSTEAD, NH - Beginning on April 28, The New England School of Auctioneering will hold its inaugural licensing course for aspiring auctioneers, to be held at the General Amos Shepard Bed & Breakfast in Alstead, NH. The eight-day, comprehensive curriculum will meet both the core and optional requirements of the New Hampshire Board of Auctioneers and prepare participants for licensing in other states as well.

Students will be instructed in specific auction arenas including business liquidation, real estate and foreclosures, small business, livestock and firearms, as well as antiques, estate sales, benefit and charity auctions and more.
Key note instructor and principle founder, Tom Troon, has over 40 years of auctioning experience and 16 years as an auctioneering instructor. Several other specialized instructors will also be sharing their knowledge on a number of auction arenas including business liquidation, real estate and small business sales, live stock, estate sales, charity auctions and more.
Other areas of instruction will focus on auction ethics, state laws, contract law, firearms, antiques, public speaking and auctioneering skills. Participants will also receive instruction in all aspects of opening and operating an auction house including the choosing of an ideal location, hiring staff, obtaining goods, promoting sale events and the bringing in and maintaining of customers.
The school also covers the use of internet auction sites and live bidding services, as well as the benefits and impact of these online approaches. The curriculum combines lectured sessions and intermediate tests designed to re-enforce knowledge from previous sessions, as well as providing hands-on exercises, all culminating with a live charity auction in which all students participate.
