The accomplishment marks the fifth Hall of fame in which Johnson has been inducted, but I digress.

Former Black River and Springfield High School basketball stand out Tyler Kathan, who also starred at Keene State College, recently signed a contract and is playing professional hoop in the England Basketball League (EBL). Established in 2003, the EBL is a semi-pro basketball league in England, which forms the second tier of competition below the professional British Basketball League.

In fact, records gathered with the help of the Saxtons River Historical Society date the Saxtons River baseball team all the way back to 1903, with an article published in the Boston Globe on November 24, reporting that the Saxtons River “semi–professional club” had claimed the Southern Vermont championship.

Local Vermont Athlete To Run Boston Marathon

Local runner Karen MacIntyre of Westminster, will be a participant in this year's 118th running of the legendary Boston Marathon, as a participant in the twentieth running of the Dana–Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC). MacIntyre will join other DFMC runners from across America and other countries to run in the historic Massachusetts marathon route from Hopkinton Boston, which will raise $4.85 million for cancer research.
