Blog – It's Been A Long Time.....

Hello all -
It has been a while since I posted a blog, rather choosing to post articles instead, as to build upon my articles archive. I have been posting all the current articles I write for various publications, but also want to start digging and posting some of the older articles I have had published over the years as well. It's a slower process than I want it to be...but we're getting there!
I have a lot of different projects going on, including a stack of CDs and DVDs to review, plus a couple band features. I have also been writing features about some of the many interesting art galleries and studios throughout southern New England. I just finished a story about a stained glass art studio in Brattleboro, Vt. called Neumann Studios. A very interesting couple who create their stain glass artworks using "old world" techniques and materials that aren't necessarily the norm.
I didn't even realize that stained glass art was still being done, (other than church windows!) but it remains a viable and interesting craft.

I am also currently working on a story about a company based in Tulsa called C-BUB Productions. They started out collecting, buying and selling music magazines, and are now considered one of the world's most renowned music and entertainment memorabilia mail order companies. They have a warehouse with over 500,000 items, and now have one of the most successful ebay business anywhere! Look for the story on this site within the next couple of weeks.

I have also started contributing articles to a sports memorbalia web site called www.sports collectorsdaily.com. I will be writing mostly about sports cards and memorabilia trends, as well as profilesd on various collectors around the country. It's a great web site for any sports fane so check it out! I've already posted my first couple articles for them on this site as well.

I am also continuing to work on my first book project...a biography about the late great Benjamin Orr of The Cars. I have been interviewing several old friends and band mates from when he was a young musician in Cleveland, and what started out as a "fun thing to try", has turned into a project that I am very proud to be a part of.
Benjamin was an unbelievable musician who never got the credit he deserved...I am finding out that he was famous in Cleveland at the tender age of 15! He was the "Elvis of Cleveland", as one of his former friends and bandmates told me.
On a personal note, my wife and I are close to closing on a new house, and also just found out that we are going to have a baby girl at the end of Setember! Life is good...and busy! Unitl next time (which will be much sooner than the last time I posted a blog) thanks for checking in and feel free to get in touch anytime with story ideas...or just to say hello! Talk to you soon! Joe
